OUR STORY

family strong

Ripley Family Farm is a seven generation farm established in 1896. The Ripley farm you see today is started by Roland and Patricia Ripley. The picture you see above includes both Roland and Patricia with some of their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. All together there are 75 in total. The farm is run by Roland, his sons Tom and Dan, and grandson Daniel.

The first Guernsey arrived on the farm in 1945. We have slowly added Guernseys over the years as we have seen the importance of highly nutritious milk. Another added benefit of the Guernseys is their A2 protein milk. Many in our own family have difficulties with dairy products, but we found that 100% A2 protein milk solved these problems. We decided to have our Guernseys DNA tested to know which cows had this A2 protein so we would be sure to have 100% A2 Guernsey milk. One thing led to another and now we want to share this milk with others. A milk with great taste, but also a milk that many once thought they could never drink again but now are able to.

Family is important to us, both the people and the lineage of our Guernseys. With God at the center of our family, we have been able to build our farm and start this venture to bring our Guernsey milk to you. During the summer months, you can find us at county and state fairs showing off our Guernseys and talking to people like you about our cows and their milk.

Our Guernsey

Adventures

National Guernsey Convention June 2017

This year our National Guernsey Convention was in our home state of New York in the Saratoga area. We spent 5 days touring farms, learning about the area, being educated on new programs and equipment, many business meetings, speaking and quiz bowl contests, catching up with other Guernsey farmers, and just enjoying time with our Guernsey family.

Show Season 2017

Show season is a family event where we can get together and share our love of Guernseys. We attend our local Cortland County Fair, the Big 6, New York State Fair, and the All-American Dairy Show where we get to see many of our dairy farm friends and also meet many new people. We had a great season this year showing our beautiful Guernseys and spending time with family.
